Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced control algorithms for power electronic applications
• Develop control system software requirements to write embedded code for 3-phase Active Rectifier, Motor Control electronics
• Contributes to system design and independently develops subsystem designs that meet requirements
• Test/debug power electronics controllers, source and assembly level debugging
• Optimize software performance by working with control system engineers
• Work with suppliers to review control software design
• Lead or support software design review activities and interface with vendors, customers and other departments
• Independently own or lead a team for small/medium size software development
• Review, check and approve work by peers and lower level engineers
• Provide guidance and training to lower level engineers
• Analyze customer requirements and validate them by analysis/modeling/prototyping
• Create software requirements specification and hardware/software interface control documents
• Create verification plan for validating product compliance to requirements
• Interface with technical analysts to define software design
• Interface with suppliers and OEMs
• Create design tools to define product design and capture lessons learned
• Create design verification test procedures and reports
• Perform product performance testing and analysis ensuring requirements are met
• Find or create solutions to problems requiring research and creativity
• Support feasibility, development, validation, verification, and qualification testing
• Follow engineering principles to meet airworthiness standards and internal requirements
• Review findings and trade studies and present them
• Provide input to program and project managers
• Perform RTCA/DO-178 based process tasks and generate related documents
• Understand and promote ZWWS policies and procedures
• Process engineering changes in water and waste systems and equipment
• Document findings and trade studies
