Job summary

United Future is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering team on a hybrid basis. You will contribute across the full stack, from device drivers to networking and encryption, reporting to the Director of Software Engineering.

The role involves working on radios and advanced research projects with a strong emphasis on security and reliability. The position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or CS, 5+ years in embedded software, and expert C programming

Qualifications

Bachelor degree required in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of embedded software development experience.
Expertise in C programming and Linux kernel driver development.

Responsibilities

Implement the software portion of MAC and mobile ad-hoc networking routing protocols.
Develop network management software and web interface components.
Implement security protocols and encryption algorithms.
Develop audio streaming and push-to-talk voice applications.
Analyze and improve product security to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST FIPS 140-3, NIAP).
Create testing software for performance and reliability testing.
Develop and maintain device drivers and BSP for ARM and RISC-V.
Customize Linux systems and scripting.
