Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking a full-time Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the Software Engineering team. The role includes developing radios and research projects, working on device drivers, networking, encryption, and security features, on a hybrid schedule with at least three days onsite weekly (Mon, Wed, Thu).

Requirements include a BS in EE or CS, 5+ years in embedded software, and strong C/Linux kernel driver experience. U.S.

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or relevant fields.
5+ years of relevant embedded system software development experience.
Expertise in C programming and experience in Linux kernel driver development.

Responsibilities

Implement MAC and mobile ad-hoc routing protocols.
Develop network management software and web UI.
Implement security protocols and encryption algorithms.
Develop audio streaming and push-to-talk apps.
Analyze and improve product security and robustness per NIST FIPS 140-3 and NIAP criteria.
Create testing software for performance and reliability testing.
Develop device drivers and BSP for ARM and RISC-V systems.
Linux system customization and scripting.
