Job summary

Mission Driven Search client in the Los Angeles area is seeking a full-time Senior Embedded Software Engineer reporting to the Director of Software Engineering. The role covers radios, drivers, networking, encryption, and security features, on a hybrid schedule with at least three onsite days weekly (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays).

Responsibilities include MAC/MANET protocol implementation, network management and web interfaces, security protocols, audio streaming, and Linux driver development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or relevant field.
• 5+ years of embedded system software development experience.
• Expertise in C programming and Linux kernel driver development.

Responsibilities

• Implement software portion of MAC and mobile ad-hoc networking routing protocols.
• Develop network management software and web interfaces.
• Implement security protocols and encryption algorithms.
• Develop audio streaming and push-to-talk voice applications.
• Analyze and improve product security to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST FIPS 140-3, NIAP).
• Develop and maintain device drivers and BSPs for ARM and RISC‑V.
• Linux system customization and scripting.
