Job summary

Jobot is seeking a senior embedded software engineer to maintain and advance the C-based control systems inside our autonomous ocean-profiling floats. You will split time between maintaining existing float control software and driving new R&D development, working directly with hardware on the bench to build, test, and refine bare-metal C code running on ARM microcontrollers.

This role backfills a departed senior engineer and carries ownership of the decoder software that supports customer data

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience writing embedded C for resource-constrained, low-memory systems.
• Direct experience programming ARM microcontrollers.
• Working knowledge of Linux-based embedded systems (required).
• Bare-metal/bootloader-level development experience (no OS) strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working at the software-hardware boundary using schematics, datasheets, and lab equipment.
• Java experience (used on shore-side software).
