Job summary

Odin Dynamics is hiring a Senior Autonomy Software Engineer to lead the autonomy and perception stack for our autonomous underwater vehicle platform. You will own the complete autonomy software lifecycle—from requirements and architecture to deployment, support, and continuous improvement.

This hands-on role requires developing production-grade autonomy algorithms, validating them in real-world conditions, and mentoring other engineers across electrical, software, and test disciplines.

Qualifications

• Deep practical experience in autonomy, perception, planning, or robotics software for real-world systems.
• Strong proficiency in at least one systems programming language.
• Experience with machine learning or deep learning for perception, classification, detection, tracking, or related autonomy tasks.
• Experience with classical computer vision, sensor fusion, or state estimation.
• Experience building production software, not just prototypes or notebooks.

Responsibilities

• Own the autonomy software lifecycle from requirements through deployment and field support.
• Develop greenfield autonomy software from initial requirements to field-tested implementation.
• Design and implement algorithms for perception, planning, and decision-making.
• Train, validate, and improve models using real and simulated data.
• Collaborate with Avionics, Embedded Software, and Test Engineering teams.
• Write production-grade code, review others, and mentor junior engineers.
