Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer (Levels II/III) to lead the integration of lunar avionics software with hardware. You will develop BSPs, write bare-metal and OS-level code, and debug on hardware with scopes, analyzers, and JTAG tools.

The role involves close collaboration with avionics hardware engineers across multiple embedded software efforts. The candidate should have 6+ years in embedded software, strong C/C++/Rust on Linux, and hands-on familiarity with hardware

Qualifications

• BS in electrical/computer engineering, aerospace or related technical field.
• 6+ years of embedded software experience.
• C/C++/Rust with Linux scripting.
• Debugging with HW/SW tools (GDB, XSDB, GRMON, Logic Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer, Wireshark).
• Understanding memory systems, buses and DMA.
• Git version control experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop BSP software and device drivers for new hardware.
• Bare-metal or OS-level initialization, control and data processing.
• Lab debugging with oscilloscopes and JTAG debuggers.
• Define HW/SW partitioning and contribute to design reviews.
• Benchmark and characterize hardware performance.
• Develop embedded SW interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, TCP/IP).
• Create fault-tolerance strategies and participate in docs/reviews.
