Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an embedded software engineer to help design, implement, and test the Mk1 Lunar Lander Flight Software (FSW). You will work with stakeholders to translate requirements into robust software and support integration across avionics and ground systems.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of embedded software experience, strong C/C++ and Python skills, and familiarity with IP networks, RTOS, and cloud/physical compute tools.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of embedded software development experience
• Strong C/C++ and Python development skills
• Solid understanding of IP networking concepts
• Experience with communications protocols and hardware drivers
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins)
• Attention to detail and strong ownership
• U.S. citizen or eligible for U.S. work authorization
• MS in related fields preferred
• Experience deploying distributed systems with Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with RTOS and BSPs
• Background in aerospace systems/design

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of the Mk1 Lunar Lander Flight Software (FSW) and its test infrastructure.
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and iteratively design and develop applications and systems to meet their needs.
• Support software integration and testing of avionics, flight software and ground software.
• Diagnose and fix software problems at multiple levels, including unit, software in-the-loop, on-hardware, and on-vehicle issues.
