General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Vehicle Mechatronic Embedded Controls team, focusing on high voltage battery systems and energy management within electrification. Hybrid work requires in-person collaboration at Milford Proving Grounds, Michigan, at least three days a week.

You will deliver embedded software, ensure safety compliance, design robust architectures, and lead Agile teams across multiple departments to enable scalable, vehicle-level software solutions

Qualifikationen

• BS in Engineering – Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or BS in Computer Science.
• Minimum 5 years of embedded controls software experience for High Voltage Battery Systems.
• Automotive Safety experience (ISO26262).
• Strong background in system design, diagnostics strategies, and control systems for embedded software applications.
• Proficiency in testing strategies with hands-on experience in SiL, HiL, and Vehicle-Level testing frameworks.
• Proficient in C/C++ programming.
• Deep understanding of diagnostics strategies, software verification, and validation methodologies.
• Knowledge of virtual testing, DevOps, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Experience with JIRA and Scaled Agile Framework.
• High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, take initiative/self-directed.
• Consistent demonstration of innovative thinking that is customer centric.

Aufgaben

• Deliver high-quality software for embedded controls systems in the electrification space, focusing on high voltage contactors and energy management.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements, government regulations, and GM internal policies (e.g., MISRA).
• Adhere to good software design principles and use design patterns, with an understanding of supervisory controls architecture and hardware abstractions.
• Design, develop, and implement Physics and Controls requirements to improve software for mechatronic controls and diagnostics strategies.
• Maintain understanding of Ethernet standards and automotive protocols like CAN, LIN, ARXML.
• Test and demonstrate software functionality across hardware-agnostic GM software.
• Document requirements and link them to test cases for traceability.
• Utilize automated test tools in build environments, test benches, and vehicles at controller, system, and vehicle levels.
• Lead and guide Agile Scrum team members and foster collaboration.
• Coordinate with Systems, Safety, Validation, Electrical Architecture, SDV, Calibration, and Vehicle Performance teams.
• Embrace BDD/TDD to ensure Software Built In Quality and early bug detection.
• Familiarize with SDV and SOA principles to create optimized, modular software solutions.
• Utilize CI/CD pipelines for development, testing, and deployment with DevOps principles.
• Develop AI-driven diagnostics and predictive analytics to enhance fault detection and prognostics.
