Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Vehicle Mechatronic Embedded Controls (VMEC) team at Milford Proving Grounds, MI. You'll develop embedded software for high voltage contactors and energy management within GM's electrification portfolio.

Work in a hybrid role, collaborate across Systems & Safety, Validation, and SDV, and apply MISRA guidelines and AUTOSAR where applicable. Relocation benefits are available under policy.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or CS with embedded software focus.
• 5+ years in embedded controls for High Voltage Battery Systems.
• Automotive safety experience (ISO26262) required.
• Strong C/C++ and system design capabilities.
• Experience with SiL/HiL and vehicle-level testing.
• Knowledge of CAN/LIN protocols and ARXML formats.
• Familiar with DevOps, CI/CD and software architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for high voltage controls and energy management.
• Adhere to MISRA guidelines and safety standards.
• Design and implement robust software architectures for mechatronic systems.
• Lead agile team members and coordinate with cross-functional groups.
• Create test cases linking requirements to traceable verification.
• Use CI/CD pipelines and automated testing in hardware-in-the-loop environments.
