AeroVironment, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Embedded) to develop software for unmanned and robotic systems including flight hardware. You will write, test and debug embedded software, integrate sensors and autopilots, and support rapid prototyping and flight tests.

The role requires strong C/C++11 and Python skills, experience with ROS/Linux, RTOS, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment. Some travel and security considerations apply.

Formación

• A BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field is required or equivalent.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience with embedded software development.
• Strong Python, C, C++11, C++ STL, and/or OpenCL expertise.
• Experience with RTOS (e.g., μC/OS, FreeRTOS) and STM32 processors is preferred.
• Experience with Linux, ROS, Linux drivers, and protocol suites (RS-485/RS-232/CAN/I2C/SPI/USB).

Responsabilidades

• Writes and tests software to support integration of sensors and embedded processors into aircraft or robotic systems.
• Writes software for prototypes and products using AeroVironment tools and ensures configuration control.
• Assists with system requirements, test plans, diagnostics, and validation testing of software.
• Supports flight test operations and transition of development software to production.
• Collaborates in multi-disciplinary teams and supports rapid prototyping and scheduling estimates.
