Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Staff Embedded Engineer Software to design, develop, integrate, and test cryptographic software for end-user solutions in a security-cleared environment, based in San Diego, CA.

You will work with Systems Engineering, Cloud & Application, Test Automation, DevSecOps and Systems Test in an Agile setting to build robust embedded real-time software across platforms, architectures and peripherals, with a focus on secure, reliable performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or STEM with 12+ years experience, or Master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years.
• Experience with Crypto Systems or Rust.
• Proficient in C/C++.
• Proficient in Object Oriented programming.
• Experience across the full software lifecycle from requirements to testing.
• Experience integrating low-level firmware and software in real-time embedded apps.
• Experience with RTOS and secure embedded software design.
• Experience with ARM architectures and peripherals.
• Experience using Jira/Bitbucket/Git in Agile development.
• Must hold a U.S. DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and test software for end-user customers and businesses, focused on cryptographic code bases.
• Responsible for design, architecture, development and administration of embedded real-time systems.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in an Agile software development environment.
• Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
