Job summary

Latitude AI, a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, is hiring for an Embedded Software Engineer on the Hardware Safety & Power Systems team in California. You will own end-to-end hardware safety and power-management architecture on TI Jacinto 7 targets, developing drivers and SafeRTOS-based firmware.

The role requires ARM Cortex-R5F expertise, ISO 26262 familiarity, and hands-on debugging with JTAG and logic analyzers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related field.
• 4+ years of embedded C/C++ experience in safety-critical or automotive-style environments.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-R5F, memory-mapped I/O, interrupt controllers, and buses.
• Experience configuring MPUs and hardware firewalls in multi-core systems.
• Experience developing HALs and drivers for multiple targets; strong testability mindset.
• Ability to root-cause hardware-software faults with low-level debugging tools.
• Foundational knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture of hardware safety and power-management systems for TI Jacinto 7 targets.
• Develop low-level drivers and firmware for PMICs, voltage supervisors and thermal monitors on bare metal and FreeRTOS.
• Lead safety diagnostic frameworks and integrate LBIST/PBIST into firmware; ensure ISO 26262 traceability.
• Perform deep-dive code reviews; enforce clean interfaces and testable design patterns.
• Mentor engineers on embedded safety patterns and RTOS integration across cores and PMICs.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to align safety requirements with hardware capabilities.
