Job summary

FORT Robotics is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II to own segments of our embedded stack and develop real-time firmware for safety devices. You will work across constrained RTOS targets and Embedded Linux, designing robust C/C++ code and bringing up new hardware.

Key responsibilities include building drivers, integrating with Linux user-space, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in a safety-conscious environment. B.S. in related field and 3–5 years of experience required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on embedded software development.
• Experience with RTOS or bare-metal targets.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with Embedded Linux user-space.
• Familiarity with hardware debugging tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust C/C++ firmware for safety-critical devices.
• Architect RTOS-based firmware on Zephyr and FreeRTOS.
• Write low-level drivers and bring up new silicon.
• Interface RTOS devices with Embedded Linux user-space applications.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab and automate tests.
• Debug hardware and optimize latency, power, and memory.
