42dot, a mobility AI company and Global Software Center of Hyundai Motor Group, seeks a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer in the San Francisco area. You will design, implement, and optimize the core real-time software stack for safety-critical automotive platforms, writing high-performance C/C++ code under MISRA C and ISO 26262 guidelines.

Qualifications

7+ years of hands-on embedded software engineering delivering production-grade firmware for resource-constrained platforms.
Expert-level proficiency in embedded C and C++, including pointers, memory management, concurrency, data structures, and debugging.
Experience with RTOS, task scheduling, synchronization, and interrupt handling.
Experience with static analysis tools (Coverity, Polyspace, QAC, Cppcheck) and triaging findings.

Responsibilities

Full-Stack Embedded Firmware: BSPs, drivers, CAN, Ethernet/TSN, SPI, I2C, UART, and app logic in C/C++.
MISRA compliance & safety coding per ISO 26262 guidelines (ASIL-D trajectory).
RTOS architecture: configure and tune FreeRTOS/SafeRTOS/AUTOSAR OS, ISRs, IPC, timing.
