Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop embedded flight software for electric power distribution and conversion systems. You will manage the full lifecycle from requirements through certification, primarily in C, with DO-178B/C compliance and safety-critical focus.

The role involves collaboration with geographically distributed teams, conducting software reviews, and supporting timing/memory analyses to ensure optimal performance and adherence to aerospace standards.

Qualifications

• Typically requires STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience in safety-critical aerospace software and DO-178B/C is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead full life-cycle development (planning, requirements, design, verification, and certification) for aerospace software.
• Ensure compliance with DO-178B/C and Design Assurance Levels A–C.
• Participate in software discipline reviews and SOI audits as needed.
• Analyze timing, memory, and stack usage to meet system requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across distributed locations to deliver software.
