Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Actuation Division seeks a Sr. Embedded Firmware Engineer to lead development of safety-certified aerospace software for actuator and motor control applications. Responsibilities include planning, design, verification, and coordination to meet DO-178C/DO-254 objectives, with collaboration across teams and travel as needed.

Role requires senior embedded experience, leadership, and strong communication skills to drive certification activities and hardware/software integration.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Experience with DO-178C / ED-12C software certification.
• Experience in actuator and motor controllers development.
• Advanced embedded C/C++ on bare metal.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a remote or local development team.
• Plan, design, verify, and coordinate safety-certified aerospace software.
• Develop software plans, standards, and infrastructure.
• Design software architecture for modular, reusable ground-up projects.
• Support hardware/software integration and lab debugging.
• Engage in vendor/customer discussions and travel as required.
