Job summary

Eaton is seeking an Embedded Software Specialist in Moon Township, PA for a hybrid role. You will act as the technical lead for energy metering products, driving architecture, design, and integration across embedded software platforms including FreeRTOS and Zephyr.

The role requires strong experience in C/C++, real-time systems, and collaboration with hardware, verification, and product teams to deliver high-precision energy measurement and secure connectivity. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 7 years of experience developing embedded software or firmware for industrial products.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical leadership involving embedded software and hardware/software integration.
• Experience with C/C++ and real-time operating systems or embedded Linux.

Responsibilities

• Define robust, modular software and system architectures for energy metering and power quality products.
• Lead embedded software development in C/C++ across bare-metal, embedded Linux, and RTOS platforms (FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
• Collaborate with product management to translate requirements into clear specifications and drive compliant verification.
• Guide software quality, cybersecurity, and verification practices across hardware and software variants.
