Job summary

HRL Laboratories, an IBM company, seeks an experienced embedded systems engineer to design, test, and integrate RF subsystems across communication, radar, and EW domains in California. You will lead embedded control development, work with scientists and engineers, and mentor junior staff in high-speed digital and RF technologies.

The role requires 7+ years in low-level programming for embedded platforms, proficiency in HDL, C/C++, and Python, and familiarity with RF testing equipment and CI/CD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in low-level programming for embedded platforms.
• Experience with HDL (Verilog/VHDL, HLS).
• Familiar with version control and software development best practices (Merge Requests, Code Reviews, CI/CD, Unit Testing).
• Experience with RF and high-speed digital test equipment and test automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, integrate, and test RF and electromagnetic components and subsystems from 0.1 to 200+ GHz.
• Develop embedded control for RF systems and lead related engineering efforts.
• Support system integration and testing, providing rapid design updates.
• Mentor junior engineers and document best practices in embedded areas.
