Blue Origin LLC in the Greater Seattle area seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer to help build the foundation of the TeraWave platform aboard LEO satellites, focusing on embedded Linux and low-level infrastructure. You will design Linux platform infrastructure, develop kernel modules, optimize for SoCs, work with silicon teams, and ensure secure boot and hardware-backed credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related STEM field, or 10+ years of software development experience.
• At least 8 years of C or C++ experience in Linux or embedded environments.
• Deep Linux kernel knowledge including driver development and memory management.
• Experience with system-level debugging tools (GDB, perf, eBPF).

Responsibilities

• Design core Linux platform infrastructure including process management and IPC frameworks.
• Develop and maintain Linux kernel modules and device drivers for custom hardware.
• Tune kernel subsystems for embedded satellite systems; optimize for SoCs.
• Collaborate with silicon, electrical, and RF teams to bring up hardware prototypes.
• Debug performance issues, ensure secure boot and hardware-backed credential management.
• Own full software lifecycle from architecture to deployment aboard LEO satellites.
