Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the TeraWave program in the Greater Seattle Area. You will lead embedded software development on Linux/RTOS platforms, build and optimize drivers for RF and satellite payload interfaces, and guide architectural decisions.

You will mentor engineers, champion CI/CD, and drive performance and reliability for mission-critical systems. Relocation assistance and temporary remote work options are available as the site develops.

Qualifications

Ideally 5+ years of embedded software development in C/C++ on Linux/RTOS/Bare-metal.
Strong proficiency in C++ OO design and implementation.
Experience with debugging hardware/software using industry tools.
Experience with standard peripherals (SPI, I2C, CAN, PCIe).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Responsibilities

Design and develop multi-threaded embedded software in C/C++ for Linux/RTOS/Bare-metal platforms.
Develop device drivers and control/data plane functions for satellite hardware.
Lead feasibility studies, prototyping and architecture definitions for assigned systems.
Define scaling, fault-tolerance, and performance KPIs; optimize compute, memory, and I/O.
Collaborate with hardware teams; contribute to docs, reviews, and architecture decisions.
Mentor engineers and drive high-quality software delivery and testing practices.
