Job summary

Anduril Industries is recruiting for a senior embedded Linux engineer who will own the boot path across firmware, U-Boot/EDK2, and the unified kernel images to ensure reliable field operation of autonomous systems.

You will customize vendor BSPs, patch upstream changes, and maintain a long-lived boot chain with secure boot and disk encryption while triaging CVEs in low-level components on deployed hardware.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of embedded Linux platform experience.
• Deep understanding of boot chain: U-Boot, EDK2, device trees, initrd, and root filesystem assembly.
• Strong C skills for kernel/driver development; Rust or C++ for userspace integration.
• Hands-on hardware debugging: serial consoles, schematics, and components datasheets.
• Experience maintaining software on real hardware with safe updates and regression tests.
• U.S. Person status required with ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the boot path end-to-end on deployed compute—firmware to encrypted root filesystem.
• Customize and sustain vendor BSPs; patch and forward-port changes across OS baselines.
• Guarantee deterministic hardware availability across boots and upgrades.
• Triage CVEs in vendor kernels and low-level components on field deployments.
• Automate Hardware-in-the-Loop tests to catch regressions before flight or field use.
• Perform deep root-cause analysis of bus, thermal, and boot issues using appropriate tools.
• Triage upstream kernel and vendor BSP issues and carry patches forward.
