Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Software Engineer for the Robotics Platform (DeviceOS). You will own the boot chain from firmware to encrypted rootfs, customize BSPs, and ensure deterministic hardware operation across boots and upgrades across a deployed fleet.

You will debug end-to-end, triage upstream issues, and contribute patches to kernel and platform drivers. This role requires deep firmware/boot experience and a US Person status for ITAR compliance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years embedded Linux platform experience.
• Deep understanding of the embedded Linux boot chain (U-Boot, EDK2), device trees, kernel command line, initrd/initramfs, and root filesystem assembly.
• Strong programming skills in C, and Rust or C++ for userspace integration.
• Hands-on debugging of hardware at bench using serial consoles and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Own the boot path end-to-end on deployed compute: firmware to encrypted rootfs.
• Customize and sustain vendor BSPs with modern package sets; patch kernels and device trees.
• Ensure peripherals are deterministically available across boots and upgrades.
• Maintain the signed boot chain and disk encryption amidst updates.
• Automate and validate with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test suites.
• Perform deep root-cause analysis of boot, power, and bus issues.
• Triage upstream kernel and BSP issues and patch as needed.
