Job summary

Xylem is seeking an experienced embedded hardware engineer to design, develop, and validate intelligent control systems for industrial applications. You will create PCBs, select components, and manage power systems while coordinating with software and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 7+ years in embedded hardware, experience with VFDs in pumping/HVAC, and willingness to travel up to 20% globally.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Bachelors or Masters).
• 7+ years in embedded systems, electronic controls, or industrial automation.
• Experience with VFDs in pumping/HVAC or similar applications.
• Experience with global engineering teams and structured product development processes.
• Willingness to travel ~10–20% for field tasks and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded hardware for control and monitoring systems.
• Create multi-layer PCBs and perform component selection and power management.
• Develop hardware/software integration and verify performance in field tests.
• Coordinate with software/firmware/mechanical teams for system integration and certifications.
• Provide technical support for manufacturing and quality improvement initiatives.
• Translate customer needs into hardware/software design specifications.
• Participate in design reviews and risk assessments.
