Job summary

Xylem is seeking an experienced embedded hardware engineer to design, develop and maintain control and monitoring systems. You will create schematics, PCB layouts, power management, and sensor interfaces while coordinating with software, firmware, and mechanical teams to ensure smooth integration and compliance across UL, CE, EMC and other standards.

The role requires 7+ years in embedded systems, experience with VFDs in pumping/HVAC contexts, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in embedded systems, electronic controls, or industrial automation.
• Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) in pumping/HVAC or similar applications.
• Experience with global engineering teams and structured product development processes.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10–20%).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded hardware for control and monitoring systems.
• Create schematics, PCB design, power management, and sensor interfaces.
• Design multi-layer PCBs using ECAD software.
• Produce technical design docs and test plans.
• Perform system integration, debugging, and verification of hardware and software.
• Coordinate with software, firmware, and mechanical teams for compliant products.
• Provide technical support for manufacturing and field issues.
• Travel to customer sites to diagnose field issues.
