AeroVironment is seeking an Senior Software Engineer (Embedded) to create and test software for embedded devices used in unmanned and robotic systems. You will design, code, and debug system software, then validate performance in flight test environments.

The role requires strong C/C++11, Python, OpenCL, and RTOS experience, plus hands-on debugging in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting. Occasional travel and long hours may be required.

Qualificações

• BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Expertise Python, C, C++11, C++ STL and/or OpenCL.
• Experience with Visual Studio, Eclipse and defect tracking tools.
• Experience with RS-485, RS-232, CAN, I2C, SPI, USB.
• Travel for testing equipment; long hours in field/test environments.

Responsabilidades

• Writes and tests software to support integration of sensors and embedded processors into aircraft or other robotic systems.
• Designs and implements software for prototypes and products using established tools and practices.
• Assists in writing system requirements, test plans, and validation testing of software.
• Supports flight test operations and hardware selection discussions.
• Develops proof of concept capability demonstrations and conducts design reviews.
• Works in multi-disciplinary teams and communicates status and milestones.
• Troubleshoots complex systems from software perspective with hardware diagnostics.
• Supports transition of development software to production environments.
