Det-Tronics (Detector Electronics, LLC) seeks a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to own firmware architecture and drive New Product Development and sustaining products through their lifecycles.

You will lead software design, implementation, testing, and documentation, collaborating with hardware teams and Product Owners. Apply Agile practices to deliver compliant firmware for regulated environments while scaling across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
• 8+ years of embedded software/firmware development in C/C++.
• 3+ years of Real-Time Operating Systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Translate concepts into robust firmware architectures that scale across products.
• Capture requirements with traceability for regulated products.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on firmware/hardware integration strategies.
• Lead with Product Owners using Agile practices to maintain alignment and transparency.
• Adhere to coding standards, perform peer reviews, and ensure well-documented, tested code.
• Develop and track work breakdowns, estimates, and roadmaps for firmware programs.
