Det-Tronics, a leading global technology company in life safety, seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Minneapolis, MN. You will own firmware architecture, lead development for New Product Development and sustaining programs, and partner with hardware and product teams to ensure robust, compliant software.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded software with C/C++, RTOS experience, and a track record delivering high-quality firmware across the full development lifecycle.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of embedded software/firmware development using C/C++.
2+ years of experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).

Responsibilities

Lead firmware design, implementation, and testing for NPD and sustaining products.
Own software architecture and drive design execution across lifecycle.
Collaborate with hardware engineers for hardware/firmware integration strategies.
Work with Product Owners using Agile practices to maintain alignment.
Ensure code is well-documented, tested, and version-controlled.
Perform unit testing with IDEs, debuggers, emulators, and protocol analyzers.
