Job summary

Hubble Network in Seattle is seeking a Senior Embedded Engineer- Developer Experience to shorten the path from bench to orbital-like testing by building the developer experience for the Hubble SDK and silicon portfolio.

You will own bring-up across Zephyr, Nordic, ESP-IDF, and TI; write integration guides; and collaborate with board vendors. This role emphasizes practical firmware work, strong systems thinking, and clear developer communication.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on firmware in C for BLE silicon.
• In-depth Zephyr RTOS, devicetree, Kconfig, west, porting.
• Experience building automated tests for embedded targets (CI, pytest/Twister).
• Strong OTA updates, power optimization, memory constrained env.
• Cross-compilation and porting to constrained targets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; can explain hard embedded problems.
• Experience working with external developers or customers.
• U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident per ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Own the developer bring-up path onto the Hubble network: reference applications, board support, samples, and quickstarts across our supported SoC portfolio.
• Port and maintain the Hubble SDK across Zephyr, nRF Connect SDK, ESP-IDF, and vendor SDKs; drive abstractions for new chips.
• Bring up new hardware targets end-to-end — schematic review, RF sanity, antenna tuning, power measurement, first satellite packet, and document what it took.
• Author developer-facing technical material that accompanies the code: integration guides and worked examples.
• Partner with vendors and dev-board ecosystem partners to get Hubble support into the boards developers already own.
• Design and implement device-side firmware update, remote configuration, and command handling for intermittent satellite link.
• Build device-side diagnostics and logging story for observable fleet health.
• Work with platform and data teams so fleet health is self-serviceable rather than a support ticket.
• Extend HITL infrastructure with silicon tests and auto CI; contribute to open-source embedded community.
• Represent Hubble in the embedded community and advocate for developer experience.
