Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking an Embedded SDE to lead platform projects for Satellite and Ground Systems from Austin, TX. You will design embedded software, collaborate across teams, and mentor engineers through from requirements to mass production.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with embedded Linux/Yocto/RTOS, kernel or device-driver work, and familiarity with interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I2C, and flash storage.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands on experience on networking and/or consumer devices using embedded Linux, Yocto, and/or Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)

Responsibilities

• Lead platform-specific projects and initiatives on Satellite as well as Ground Systems.
• Mentor a team of software engineers on best practices while guiding software designs from requirements gathering through mass production.
• Work with embedded Linux/Yocto/RTOS, kernel programming and device drivers, and Ethernet/PCIe/SPI/I2C interfaces.
• Be flexible and responsive to high priority issues and collaborate with teams across Amazon.
