Job summary

The New York State Department of Social Services seeks an Eligibility Examiner level professional to follow regulations and departmental protocols in delivering Temporary Assistance services. You will interview customers, open and update cases, and monitor changes to re-evaluate eligibility while maintaining detailed automated case records.

Supervision may extend to Eligibility Clerks and support staff. You will operate within established rules to ensure accurate classifications and payments,

Qualifications

• Experience interviewing customers and opening new cases.
• Ability to determine eligibility per program rules.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment within prescribed rules, policies and procedures.
