Qualifications

• Experience supervising a group of employees in social services.
• Ability to analyze eligibility facts and exercise judgment.
• Familiarity with Federal, State and Local Social Services laws.
• Ability to perform field visits and collect corroborating documentation.
• Ability to communicate with applicants, cooperating agencies, and courts.

Responsibilities

• Reviews documents to verify eligibility and determine additional action required.
• Contacts cooperating agencies to verify client’s eligibility.
• Makes field visits to verify information.
• Obtains corroborative written or recorded documentation in cases of possible ineligibility.
• Appears at Administrative or Judicial proceedings when required to interpret decisions.
• Interviews applicants and recipients and collects collateral contacts for eligibility.
• Reports findings of investigations; e.g., reduce grants, close case, release grant, refer to law enforcement.
• Prepares required statistical reporting appropriate to action.
• Provides feedback on validity of decisions to pinpoint causes of error.
