Job summary

Saab, Inc. in the United States is seeking an Electronics Commodity Management Professional to lead strategic sourcing for electronics across North America and international needs.

You will develop category strategies, negotiate first-time contracts, manage supplier lists, and support win opportunities. The role requires a BA/BS in supply chain or engineering, 8+ years of sourcing experience (6+ with Master’s), strong financial acumen and electronics expertise, plus leadership and communication

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Supply Chain Management or Engineering required.
• 8+ years with BA/BS, or 6+ years with Master’s, in Sourcing or Supply Chain.
• Strong financial acumen related to sourcing and supply chain.
• Strong electronics technical background.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Leadership and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop commodity category strategies to drive value across quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and sustainability within the supply base.
• Lead supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation, and award for new suppliers that meet needs of multiple business units.
• Manage approved supplier list for electronics commodities.
• Support supply chain during win business process by identifying, vetting, and onboarding critical suppliers.
• Analyze data to understand existing supply base and commodity categories.
• Perform market research and analyze trends for electronics category or others as needed.
• Proactively identify risks and opportunities within electronics category by completing SWOT analysis and risk assessments.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to determine future needs in near and long term.
• Create an adaptable supply chain for electronics commodities.
• Lead supplier evaluations to understand supplier capabilities and practices.
• Conduct comprehensive spend analysis to identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews with internal stakeholders for critical suppliers to manage performance.
• Support Saab Inc. Small Business objectives and promote a diverse supply base.
• Collaborate with cross functional groups to develop a supplier evaluation and scoring system.
• Develop or modify standard operating procedures and work instructions to document the process.
