Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc seeks a Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer in Reston, VA, to lead electronics hardware design for airworthy control systems. The role involves analog/digital work, lab testing, and certification support within a hybrid work model.

Travel up to 20% between Rolls-Royce sites and up to 15% other travel may be required. The candidate will participate in the full development lifecycle from concept through validation, ensuring robust, compliant hardware for next-generation aero

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of Electronics Hardware Circuit Design experience.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Electronics/Electrical Engineering qualifies for consideration.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for eligibility.
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Concept, design and execute electronics circuit design for control and monitoring systems.
• Perform trade study analysis, tolerance analysis and simulations to support design accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform worst-case calculation and analysis (tolerance, stress and FMEA).
• Develop electrical hardware products in the lab through testing, diagnosing, and inspection through development lifecycle.
