Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks an Electronic Component Structural Analysis Engineer to advance structural integrity of space hardware. You’ll apply solid mechanics, FEA, and testing to electronics packaging, solar arrays, and antennas, with collaboration across internal teams and customers.

This full-time onsite role is based in El Segundo, CA with consideration for Chantilly, VA and Colorado Springs, CO, supporting national space programs. Travel ~20% and mentoring responsibilities may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in structural engineering with FE analyses.
• Willingness to travel ~20% and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and resolve structural design and test issues for electronics components.
• Coordinate detailed analyses to identify failure mechanisms and modes.
• Develop design criteria, requirements, and specifications for structural designs.
• Plan and coordinate test procedures and success criteria for structural tests.
• Mentor less experienced staff in structural engineering and analysis methods.
