Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Manager of the Component Analysis & Space Structures Section. The role focuses on solid mechanics, structural analyses, and space vehicle hardware evaluation, with at least 4 days onsite. TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Lead cross-disciplinary teams, guide design and test methodologies, and drive assessment of flight worthiness for spacecraft structures and subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in structural design, analysis, and test methodologies.
• Ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams and staff.
• Experience with finite element analysis and material characterization.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Work with program offices to identify issues in structural integrity of components and spacecraft structures.
• Direct staff to conduct independent analyses and evaluate test programs.
• Review and approve design, analysis, and test methodologies for spacecraft structures.
• Develop relationships with program offices responsible for electronic hardware and components.
• Manage staffing, mentoring, and communication with upper management on technical issues.
• Develop staff through assignments, mentoring and training.
