Job summary

Space Kinetic is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to perform static, dynamic, and thermal analyses across spacecraft and deployment hardware. The role requires 5–10 years of experience and a strong background in finite element methods and stress analysis.

The onsite position in El Segundo CA offers base salary with equity, a comprehensive benefits package, and a performance-based bonus. You will collaborate with design, test, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, manufacturable space

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, applied physics, or related technical field.
• 5–10 years of structural analysis, stress analysis, or related experience.
• Strong foundation in statics, dynamics, fatigue, and materials behavior.
• Proficiency with FEMAP/NASTRAN, ANSYS, Abaqus, or equivalent tools.
• Ability to validate results with hand calculations and test data.

Responsibilities

• Conduct static, thermo-mechanical, dynamic, vibration, buckling, fatigue, and fracture analyses.
• Develop structural models to predict stress, deformation, and margins of safety.
• Define load cases and environments for spacecraft hardware.
• Perform hand calculations and analytical modeling to guide design decisions.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, systems, and test engineers.
• Support structural test planning, instrumentation, and data correlation.
• Lead structural design trades, mass optimization, and issue resolution.
• Document and present analysis findings during reviews.
