Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking an exceptional Electromechanical Design Engineer to design, test, and scale mission-critical hardware across autonomous air, sea, ground, and strike platforms.

You’ll own enclosures, sensor integration, and electromechanical assemblies from concept through prototyping and volume production; create high‑fidelity 3D models and drawings; apply first‑principles engineering, FEA, and tolerance analysis; collaborate with cross‑functional teams to de-risk

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or related field.
  • 4+ years of professional mechanical design experience taking hardware from concept through fabrication and test.
  • Proficiency in parametric 3D CAD (NX preferred, SolidWorks or Creo) and PLM environments (Teamcenter).
  • Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Hands-on prototyping and fabrication experience with root-cause analysis.
  • Experience designing DFMA for future volume production in regulated environments.
  • Design experience for tightly integrated electromechanical systems (PCBA, thermal management, shielding, harness routing).
  • Eligible for U.S. Security Clearance (DoD Secret/Top Secret/DOE Q).
  • Up to 15% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Own enclosures, sensor integration, and electromechanical assemblies from requirements through prototyping and volume manufacturing.
  • Create high-fidelity 3D models and defined 2D drawing packages.
  • Design parts across molding, CNC machining, weldments, sheet metal, composites, and bonding.
  • Apply first-principles engineering and FEA/hand calculations to validate performance.
  • Perform tolerance stacks, DFMEAs, and early risk assessments.
  • Build prototypes, write test plans, and run environmental and functional tests.
  • Collaborate with electrical, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to solve hardware bottlenecks.
