Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join our Costa Mesa HQ. You will work on core product development for complex systems, including optical, mechanical, and sensor subsystems. The role emphasizes hands‑on ownership and cross‑discipline collaboration.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of electrical/design experience, strong PCB/ECAD skills, and a proven ability to prototype, test, and transition hardware to production. US Top Secret eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical/design experience in a professional setting.
• Experience in PCB design and ECAD (Altium, KiCAD, etc).
• Hands-on prototyping (soldering, board assembly).
• Ability to read, interpret, and manipulate schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience with controls/actuation, robotics, and/or motor/servo drive systems.
• Experience with microcontrollers and power conversion.
• BS, MS or PhD in engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid evaluation of engineering concepts across fields.
• Identify industry partners and manage early vendor relationships.
• Conduct trade studies and physics-based analysis of complex problems.
• Manage internal and external market research and comparisons.
• Design, implement, and test complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Own system level ownership with autonomy.
• Lead design reviews, run analyses, visit vendors, and plan hardware tests.
• Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition to production.
• Support hardware demonstrations with customers.
• Travel to test sites as needed.
• Apply first principles physics to decisions.
• Wear many hats.
