Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA, is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to own end-to-end hardware development across autonomous air, sea, ground, and strike platforms. You will lead from concept through prototyping to volume manufacturing, applying GD&T, 3D CAD, and rigorous testing.

You’ll collaborate with Electrical, Manufacturing, Safety, and suppliers, perform FEA and hand calculations, and ensure manufacturability in high-rate environments, with eligibility for U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical/Aerospace/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of professional mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and GD&T with PLM/PDM experience.
• Hands-on prototyping and fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Own components and assemblies from requirements definition through prototyping and volume manufacturing.
• Create high-fidelity 3D models and detailed 2D drawings per ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Design parts across diverse fabrication processes (CNC, weldments, sheet metal, molding).
• Apply first-principles, FEA/hand calculations to validate performance under harsh conditions.
• Perform DFMEA and tooling assessments to de-risk production bottlenecks.
• Prototype, test plans, and conduct environment, dynamic, bench-top tests.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, and Sourcing teams.
