Job summary

Blue Origin in Colorado seeks an experienced Electromechanical Packaging Engineer III to own ruggedized EO enclosures and fiber-optic assemblies from concept through flight release. You will coordinate with electrical and PCB teams to optimize packaging, heat paths, and reliability under launch and orbit conditions.

The role requires strong 3D CAD, GD&T, and a proactive, team-oriented approach. You will drive thermal and structural analyses, define mechanical interfaces, and support production

Qualifications

• Experience designing electro-optical or high-rel packaging from requirements to production.
• Strong 3D CAD skills and GD&T knowledge for space hardware.
• Ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams (electrical, thermal, packaging).

Responsibilities

• Own complex packaging assemblies including enclosures and fiber junctions.
• Lead mechanical and thermal design of EO units for flight qualification.
• Drive thermal, structural, vibration and fatigue analyses.
• Mentor engineers and lead design reviews in a security-focused program.
