Job summary

Blue Origin in Colorado is seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer to own ruggedized enclosures and electro-optical assemblies for national-security space programs. Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Optical or Photonics Engineering and 5–10+ years in electromechanical packaging.
• Experience packaging electro-optical hardware with thermal management challenges.
• Strong 3D CAD and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Eligibility to obtain/maintain U.S. government security clearance.
• Ability to work cross-functionally on fast-moving programs.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical/thermal design of electro-optical units for space applications.
• Lead packaging for modem processing, photonics, and transceivers.
• Define thermal paths, hardware interfaces, and mass/volume budgets.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers and PCB designers through layout and test.
• Deliver drawings, specifications, and release packages; support production.
