Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking an experienced Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer to drive the development and integration of mechanical and electrical systems for cutting-edge power tools. You will lead thermal management, design-for-excellence initiatives, and collaborate with functional teams to optimize cost and manufacturability.

The role requires 5+ years in electro-mechanical design, strong CAD skills, and the ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of electro-mechanical systems design and integration.
• Expertise in thermal management, PCB layout optimization, cost optimization initiatives, and DFX principles.
• Knowledge of FEA, DOE, FMEA, and GD&T.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as ProE, SolidWorks, or NX.
• Experience with PCBA manufacturing processes and fabrication methods.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead thermal management, cost optimization, and DFM/DFX initiatives.
• Conduct detailed design reviews to improve functionality and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate components into cohesive designs.
• Analyze materials and processes to ensure quality and durability.
• Support production troubleshooting and implement continuous improvements.
• Lead PCB layout optimization and thermal simulations.
• Develop and maintain a thermal performance guide.
• Partner with suppliers to ensure cost-effective sourcing and manufacturing.
• Drive optimization of assembly processes to reduce variation.
• Establish ESD and EMC best practices.
