Job summary
The Nycor Group in the West Metro Suburbs of Minneapolis (near Plymouth) seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead electro-mechanical design for automation applications. This role focuses on creating advanced actuators, layouts, and CAE-driven solutions with a strong CAD/FEA toolkit.
You will own system-level architecture, collaborate with product teams, and drive modular design in a high-mix manufacturing setting. Visa sponsorship and relocation are not offered.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Master's degree preferred for advanced roles.
- 5+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience.
- Experience with automation or defense products is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design electro-mechanical actuation and power transmission products.
- Lead system-level design from requirements to detailed solutions.
- Maintain detailed layouts, FEA models, and tolerance schemes.
- Collaborate with product managers and customers to translate needs.
- Present design reviews and risk assessments.
- Support roadmaps and trade-off studies balancing cost and manufacturability.
- Develop modular architectures in a high-mix environment.
