Job summary

The Nycor Group, located in the West Metro Suburbs of Minneapolis, is seeking an Applications Engineer to support automation motion product applications. The role requires a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree and a strong ability to interpret specifications, perform calculations, and communicate complex concepts clearly.

You will work with customers, distributors, and internal teams to tailor solutions, provide training, and ensure successful installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (Required).
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and application requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including engineering calculations.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Customer-focused mindset with ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering-related software tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical sales and application support for electric linear motion products.
• Assist customers, distributors, and sales personnel with product selection, sizing, installation, and troubleshooting of electric actuators, motors, and drives.
• Perform engineering calculations related to motion dynamics, system requirements, and application performance.
• Recommend product solutions based on customer application requirements and operating conditions.
• Deliver product training, technical presentations, and application guidance to customers, distributors, and internal teams.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Service to support customer success and business objectives.
• Maintain current knowledge of products, motion control technologies, and industry trends.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer experience, product application support, and internal processes.
