GCS Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to lead design of custom automation equipment from concept to production in Bloomington, MN. You will own complete assemblies, collaborate with controls and software teams, and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities include SolidWorks modeling, PDM data management, material and component selection, and ensuring manufacturability and serviceability for deployment at Shakopee and future sites in Mexico.

Qualificações

• 5+ years designing custom automation or semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, including complex assemblies and mechanisms.
• Strong 2D drafting with GD&T and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience integrating components into custom-built systems.
• Hands-on prototyping, assembly, testing, and debugging.

Responsabilidades

• Lead mechanical design of complex semi-automated equipment using SolidWorks.
• Manage designs within SolidWorks PDM and ensure data integrity.
• Create detailed 2D drawings with all tolerancing and dimensions.
• Select materials and purchased components for precision systems.
• Design for manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and serviceability.
• Prototype, assemble, test, and qualify equipment on hands-on projects.
• Collaborate with controls, software, and electrical teams to integrate PLCs, robotics, vision systems.
• Translate process requirements into practical equipment solutions with process engineers.
• Support deployment of equipment to production sites in Shakopee and Mexico.
