Job summary

General Motors seeks a Diagnostics Systems Architect to lead Electrification Diagnostics within the VMEC team. This role focuses on Battery & High Voltage diagnostics, leveraging OBD standards and advanced modelling to support EV programs and GM’s electrification initiatives.

You will mentor engineers, drive diagnostic standards, and collaborate across Architecture, Software, Controls, and Suppliers teams. Hybrid work with office visits at Milford, MI several times weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 7+ years engineering experience.
• Experience with OBD regulation requirements and battery chemistry basics.
• Design and optimization of supervisory control systems for EVs.
• Experience with DOORS and simulation tools (Matlab/Simulink, CarSim, ETAS).
• Ability to collaborate with Architecture, Controls, Software, Hardware teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive diagnostics excellence for Electrification Battery & High Voltage ART.
• Mentor engineers and promote common diagnostic approaches.
• Ensure high-quality diagnostics are delivered on time across forums.
• Improve Standard Work processes for SAFe Epic/Feature development.
• Support cross-ART dependencies and cross-team test data analysis.
• Lead discussions to address issues with calibration and controls teams.
• Contribute to Behavioral Tech Specification development and scenarios.
