Job summary

General Motors Milford Proving Grounds is seeking a Diagnostic Systems Architect to join the Vehicle Mechatronics Embedded Controls (VMEC) team. You will drive electrification diagnostics, shape diagnostic strategies for battery and high voltage systems, and contribute to GM’s all-electric future.

This role combines advanced analytics, cross‑functional collaboration, and end‑to‑end controller diagnostics, with hybrid work and on‑site at Milford three days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science, Information Technology, Chemistry or equivalent.
• Minimum 7+ years engineering experience.
• Mastery of OBD regulation requirements and battery chemistry basics.
• Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing Supervisory Control Systems for Electric Vehicles.
• Proficient with DOORS and simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, CarSim, D-Space, ETAS).
• Strong collaboration with Architecture, Controls, Software, Hardware, and Suppliers teams.
• End-to-end controller diagnostics experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive diagnostics algorithms for Electrification Battery & High Voltage ART per OBDII standards.
• Mentor engineers and promote common diagnostic approaches across teams.
• Ensure high-quality diagnostics are delivered on time and communicated clearly.
• Develop processes to support SAFe Epic/Feature development and PRTS.
• Support cross-ART dependencies and ATW projects with diagnostic expertise.
• Lead calibration/test data review and issue resolution via cross-team discussions.
• Contribute to Behavioral Tech Specifications and edge-case scenarios.
• Own end-to-end controller diagnostics in automotive calibration context.
