Job summary

General Motors LLC is seeking a Diagnostic Systems Architect for the VMEC team in Michigan. You will lead diagnostics for electrification and high voltage systems, shaping algorithms and verification methods across multiple ARTs.

You will mentor engineers, drive standard work improvements, and ensure alignment with OBDII standards while collaborating with architecture, software, hardware, and suppliers in a fast-moving EV program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, math, CS, IT, chemistry or equivalent.
• 7+ years engineering experience.
• Mastery of OBD requirements, thermal propagation detection, and battery chemistry basics.
• Experience designing and optimizing ECUs for EVs.

Responsibilities

• Drive diagnostic algorithms for Electrification Battery & High Voltage ART.
• Mentor engineers and promote common diagnostic approaches.
• Ensure high-quality diagnostics are delivered on time across vehicle teams and leadership forums.
• Improve Standard Work processes and support PRTS and SAFe Epic/Feature development.
• Collaborate across Architecture, Controls, Software, Hardware and supplier teams.
