The City of Virginia Beach’s Department of Public Utilities is hiring a Maintenance Engineer II, Senior Electrician to support the Electrical Support Team in maintaining and calibrating instrumentation at water and sanitary sewer pumping stations.

The role requires a Virginia Masters Electrician License (or reciprocal) and involves troubleshooting, PLC work, plan reviews, and compliance with NEC/OSHA; night/weekend work may be required. The City offers generous benefits.

Competenze

• Direct and complete work orders for electrical maintenance and calibration.
• Troubleshoot, repair, alter and install electrical/electronic systems.
• Review electrical plans/blueprints and prepare electrical specifications.

• Direct and complete work orders for new construction and station rehab.
• Diagnose electrical problems and ensure proper tools and materials are available.
• Build, program, and maintain PLC programs.
• Troubleshoot radio and cellular communication issues.
• Ensure NEC and OSHA standards are followed for safety.
